Antonio Conte has heaped praise on three Roma stars in the lead-up to Chelsea‘s Champions League clash on Wednesday night.

Why Antonio Conte and Chelsea would be making a big mistake by offloading Michy Batshuayi

Conte has publicly admitted his squad at Stamford Bridge lacks depth and it’s understood the Italian is already scouring the market for reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window.

Asked which players he would ‘take out’ of Roma, Conte replied: ‘It’s always difficult to answer these questions, it’s the group that counts and then you have important individuals.

‘I know the heart of three guys like [Daniele] De Rossi, [Stephan] El Shaarawy and [Alessandro] Florenzi and I would take some of that spirit.’

Conte revealed that Alvaro Morata could feature versus Roma for the first time since picking up a hamstring injury against Manchester City.

He said: ‘Alvaro is in contention for tomorrow’s game. He has trained with us and is in contention for tomorrow.

‘I repeat this situation is very difficult, you have to make the best decision, for sure tomorrow I’m not taking risks if I decide for Morata to play.’
