Israeli PM Says There’s ‘Still Time’ To Change Policy On Iran Deal
In a late night interview with Fox News host Mark Levin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated there’s “still time to stop Iran” while discussing the Iran deal Sunday.

Netanyahu discussed his disagreements with President Obama, over which the prime minister said there were many. But, Netanyahu said “the biggest disagreement was Iran.”
“The disagreement was this: The nuclear deal, as structured, basically takes away the constraints on Iran’s nuclear program by a date certain. Iran can do anything it wants in the interim, it can conquer countries, which exactly is what they’re doing, and they’ll still get the removal of these limitations. I said, look, make sure, don’t remove these restrictions until Iran changes its behavior,” Netayahu said.
Netanyahu continued, “In other words, condition the lifting of those restrictions not on a change of calendar but a change of behavior, that’s essentially what I said in the U.S. Congress. That was rejected at the time because people said I was stopping, I was bringing war. I wasn’t bringing war, war is coming to us as a result of the fact that Iran is out of its cage. That’s what’s happening right now. And I think it’s time. Still time to stop Iran, to put restrictions back on, to say you have to change.”
“You cannot devour one country after the other. That’s what they said, they said Iran will now join the community of nations after this nuclear deal. No. Iran is just devouring the nations, that’s what it’s doing. I think you need a change of policy and very glad to see there has been such a change in Washington by President Trump,” Netanyahu finished.
Recently, the Iranian government threatened to pull out of the Iran deal due to the fact that big banks refuse to do business with Iran.
Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign deputy minister, said in a speech in February to London-based think tank Chatham House, “If the same policy of confusion and uncertainties about the [deal] continues, if companies and banks are not working with Iran, we cannot remain in a deal that has no benefit for us.”
President Trump said in a January 12, 2018 statement, “Today, I am waiving the application of certain nuclear sanctions, but only in order to secure our European allies’ agreement to fix the terrible flaws of the Iran nuclear deal. This is a last chance. In the absence of such an agreement, the United States will not again waive sanctions in order to stay in the Iran nuclear deal. And if at any time I judge that such an agreement is not within reach, I will withdraw from the deal immediately.”
