Remember The Disgraced Former President Of ESPN? Heres What Hes Doing Now

Its been nearly five months since ESPN president John Skipper made his sudden exit as president of ESPN.

Skipper cited substance abuse and extortion for why he was leaving. But many remained skeptical about his actual reasoning for departure, as he was reportedly well loved both within the company and throughout the industry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Skipper will be joining the British sports media company known as Perform Group. Hell sit as an executive chairman.

In a statement released Tuesday, Skipper offered high marks for Perform Group CEO Simon Denyer.

“Simon and his team have built an enormously impressive company, providing an excellent base to establish a global leadership position in the over-the-top sports subscription business, the clear future of sports delivery,” he said. “Perform Groups platform and expertise, coupled with its success in launching subscription services in Germany, Japan and Canada provides a model we intend to replicate around the world.”

Skipper will reportedly manage all of Perform Groups strategy and operations, as well as oversee its online media content like Goal.com and SportingNews.com. A start date for Skipper has not yet been named.
