Former President Jimmy Carter took a lighthearted jab at President Trump during his Saturday commencement address at Liberty University.

“This is a wonderful crowd,” Carter began, according to The Hill. “Jerry told me its even bigger, I hate to say this, than it was last year. I dont know if President Trump would admit that or not.”

President Trump gave Liberty Universitys commencement speech last year in front of around 50,000 attendees, which was then, according to school president Jerry Falwell Jr., the schools “best commencement speech.”

Carter reportedly said there were over 20,000 graduates, not including friends and family in attendance.

The joke was a lighthearted reference to Sean Spicers claim that President Trumps inauguration had the “largest audience ever to witness an inauguration, period.” (RELATED: Sean Spicer Rips The Media For Lying About Crowd Sizes At Trumps Inauguration)

“We decide whether we tell the truth or benefit from telling lies,” Carter said. “Were the ones who decide, do I hate or am I filled with love? Were the ones who decide, do I only think about myself, or do I care for others? We ourselves make these decisions and no one else. There are no limits to our ambition.”
