Youd think now being royalty, Meghan Markle would be able to get her hands on some shoes that fit.

And yet, during her first royal appearance at Ascot, the Duchess of Sussex appeared to be wearing a pair of too-big black leather pumps.

So what was going on there?

Well, according to fashion expert Harriet Davey, celebrities often go up a size or two in order to avoid blisters.

Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when theyre at an event or on the red carpet and its for one reason we can all relate to – to avoid blisters, she tells The Sun.

Because celebs and Royals are on their feet for such long periods of time, theyre more prone to blisters, which happen when swollen feet rub on shoes.

But as we all know, walking in too-big shoes can be almost impossible over a long distance.

To counteract that, shoes are stuffed with tissue.

Harriet explains: A trick of the trade is to stuff the toe with padding like tissue or cotton wool, and this can be taken out once they feel like they need a bit more room in their shoes.

And that hack also avoids bunions and upper foot pain from being pinched and squeezed into tight or pointed shoes.

So if youre always waking up with foot ache the morning after the night before, this hack might well help.
