If theres one thing that can unite us, its Ikeas Swedish meatballs (which arent actually Swedish, FYI).

Football does the trick when it comes to bringing England together, but it doesnt do much for international relations.

So its handy, then, that to deal with any animosity brought on by the World Cup Ikea is launching a special deal on their meatballs in honour of the Sweden vs England game.

If you pop into Ikea today, Saturday 7 July, all day from 11am, youll get a free plate of English fish and chips when you order a plate of Ikeas meatballs (you can choose the veggie balls or the regular meatballs, whichever you fancy).

If youre questioning the point of a free second meal when you order what youre after, there is some method behind the madness.

The idea is that youll bring along a pal and divide the two meals between you, so you each get a Swedish meatballs and English fish and chips combo. See? Thats how you bring opposing sides together.

Of course, you could always just scoff both. Your choice.

In addition to that glorious offer, Ikea will also be celebrating the team that wins by offering a Lunch of Champions for £1 on Sunday 8 July.

Depending on who wins, youll be able to grab a plate of fish and chips or meatballs for a quid. Youll just need to download a code to access the deal from the IKEA website once we know whos won.

So rejoice, football fans, anyone in need of furniture, or people who appreciate a solid combo of meatballs, battered fish, and chips. Its coming (to the popular) home(ware store, Ikea).
