Dozens Arrested Protesting Kavanaugh In Senate Office Building

Dozens of protesters were arrested in the Russell Senate Office Building after refusing to cooperate with police Monday, chanting against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Nearly 50 protesters gathered in the Russell Rotunda on Capitol Hill, yelling together, “Kavanaughs disgusting. Thats why were disrupting.” The protest comes one day after a second woman accused Kavanaugh of alleged sexual misconduct. Protesters received multiple warnings, but dozens refused to leave and were arrested.

The protesters who were arrested were lined up and loaded into busses, where they were reportedly going to be processed and charged for their behavior.

Protesters have continued to gather in the U.S. Capitol or in Senate office buildings since Kavanaughs nomination was announced. Dozens of protesters filled Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassleys office in protest of Kavanaugh Thursday to eat sandwiches and discuss their concerns about the Supreme Court nominee. The arrests also come as protesters across the U.S. have planned a “National Walkout” at 1 p.m., where they plan to get up and leave wherever they are, including work and school.
