Tyson Fury’s doping hearing resumes on Monday with heavyweight edging closer to discovering if he can return to the ring in 2018.

The Brit has been under investigation for an alleged doping offence for over a year, with UKAD delaying the hearing in the summer.

Fury faces a charge of having a banned substance in his system and a second charge of refusing to provide a sample to testers in September of last year.

The hearing is set to last for at five days and could be wrapped up by the end of the week.

That could mean Fury could learn his fate as soon as the weekend. Fury is expecting good news and has already returned to training ahead of a 2018 return.

The 29-year-old has not boxed since November 2015, but could face a ban of four years if he found guilty by UKAD.

Hughie Fury faces the same charge as his cousin for potential breaking doping rules, but both fighters have denied ever taking performance-enhancing drugs.

Fury could be made wait until the turn of the year to learn UKAD’s conclusion, but the heavyweight is hopeful there will be a speedy resolution once the hearing resumes.

UKAD have already been in contact with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in the event Fury decides to seek damages against them if he is found innocent.

The British Boxing Board of Control have insisted Fury is not guaranteed a new boxing licence if he is cleared.

The organisation stripped Fury of his right to compete after he relinquished his heavyweight titles in late 2016 and took a break from fighting due to mental health issues.
