Antonio Conte wants his Chelsea board to provide him with a public vote of confidence to end the speculation about his future at the club.

The Italian won the Premier League during his first campaign with the club but the Blues have barely provided a defence of their crown this term.

Reports on Sunday claimed Conte would be sacked if the Blues lose to Watford at Vicarage Road with former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique in line to take charge.

However, Conte is determined to see out the remaining 18 months of his deal at Chelsea and has urged the club to end the speculation about his job.

I’d like to have a statement to support against this speculation,” said the 48-year-old Italian.

“Maybe I’d like that the club prepare a statement to tell the media, ‘I trust in his job, I trust in his work’.

Conte signed a new deal with the club last summer to improve his terms – but not the length of his contract – after winning the Premier League.

And the Italian says he would be open to extending that deal.

‘I’m giving all of myself for this club,’ said Conte.

‘I think that we are doing the maximum for this club and if the club understands this and the club wants to extend a new contract then we can talk, why not?’
