Former FBI Director James Comey is following Barack Obama’s lead in taking an embarassingly lukewarm take on the NCAA Tournament.

Obama drew up his picks on an ESPN special called “Baracketology” when he was president. While that’s not the case any longer he still makes them public. Problem is, they’re always painfully predictable. (RELATED: These Are The Teams Obama Put In His Final Four)

Just because I have more time to watch games doesn’t mean my picks will be better, but here are my brackets this year: https://t.co/ETRchPcZxFpic.twitter.com/gnNXw0Ysxr

The former president posted his picks for this year on Wednesday and, aside from having No. 3 seed Michigan State take home the title, it was 1 and 2 seeds across the board in the elite eight. Comey has the exact same teams in the elite eight with the exception of just Xavier (the weakest of the one seeds), which he swapped for Gonzaga. Real risky, we know.

I don’t have personalized bracket stationary like @BarackObama but I got the substance (and a smoother shot tbh). pic.twitter.com/QJ8HF4CwDW

Bracketology is one of the most fun things to take part in leading up to the tournament, but the only thing that makes it fun is the riskiness and unpredictability of it all. It’s called March Madness for a reason.

Still, if you want to play it safe, that’s fine. But if you consider yourself a big basketball guy like Obama and Comey both do, don’t embarrass yourself by making these cold takes public. Keep it to yourself.
