Sale Of Loyola Chicago Merchandise Increases Dramatically Due To Final Four Run

Loyola University Chicagos bookstore has sold more than $100,000 worth of Sister Jean bobbleheads due to the basketball teams Final Four run, CBS News reports.

The campus store has sold 5,000 bobbleheads in 48 hours for $25 each to buyers in every state in the U.S., according to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame. The novelties feature Sister Jean Schmidt, the teams 98-year-old chaplain. The store gives a portion of each bobblehead sale to the Loyola Athletic Fund and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Along with the bobbleheads and merchandise sales, the campus bookstore also opened a pop-up location in Chicago to keep up with demand from fans.

In addition to the spike in sales, the school expects to gain additional tuition revenue in upcoming years. According to the school paper, the Loyal Phoenix, the classes of 2020 and 2021 are the largest in school history.

According to Fanatics, seller of licensed sports merchandise, the Ramblers have sold more items than the three other Final Four teams: Kansas, Michigan and Villanova.
