Georgia Sheriff Posts Welcome Sign Warning That Locals Are Armed

9:07 PM 04/06/2018

Sheriff Mike Jolley recently posted a sign outside of his Harris County, Ga. headquarters warning visitors that locals may be carrying concealed weapons.

Jolley, who made headlines several years ago with a different sign, paid for its installation personally.

The sign reads:

“Our citizens have concealed weapons. If you kill someone, we might kill you back. We have one jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay!”

Jolleys previous sign, posted in late 2015, was dubbed “the most politically incorrect sign in America.” The sheriff paid $553 for that sign out of his own pocket as well, and explained that he was tired of the “silent majority” actually being silent. “Its time for the silent majority to stand up for our beliefs and not be ashamed.”

That sign read:

“WARNING: Harris County is politically incorrect. We say: Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag. If this offends you… LEAVE!”

Harris County, which is in western Georgia near the Alabama border, is a solid red district that voted overwhelmingly for President Donald Trump in 2016 (he earned 72.8 percent of the vote).
