Melania Trump made a visit Monday to the opioid memorial near the White House.

“Very moving visit today – Prescribed to Death Opioid Memorial on the Ellipse is a worthwhile partnership between @WhiteHouse, @Interior & @NatlParkService. #StopEveryDayKillers,” the first lady captioned her post on Instagram, along with a few pictures of the memorial that remembers the people who have died in the opioid epidemic.

Since President Donald Trump took office, the first lady has visited facilities that work with and help families that are struggling with addiction.

“As you know, the opioid epidemic and how it affects children and families has been one of the issue areas Mrs. Trump is focused on, so going to the memorial was something she wanted to do as soon as it was announced,” the first ladys spokesperson told The Daily Caller.

Last month, Trump spoke at a WH summit about the opioid crisis, telling the group that change was needed.

“Everyone in this room knows that our country is in the middle of the opioid crisis,” the first lady shared in her remarks. “And Im so proud of the work that this administration has already done to combat this epidemic. We all know there is still much work to be done, which is why youre all here today.”

“Our unified goal is that of helping all who have been affected by drug addiction,” she added. “And, for me, that means focusing on babies and young mothers, which is something I have been often seeing in my travels.”
