The NFL draft results made Wisconsins past football season look even more impressive.
The team went 13-1 and won the Orange Bowl. They did the whole thing while not have a single player picked in the first three rounds, and only five players being drafted in the later rounds.
The thought didnt even really occur to me until somebody gave me a call after the conclusion of the draft, and we discussed the outcome. The Badgers were a touchdown away from the playoff. A touchdown away from the playoff and not a single player was drafted in the first two days.
Can any other team in a major conference claim the same? The only other team in a Power Five conference was Alabama, and they had 12 players drafted into the NFL. Five of those players were picked in the first two days.
Its truly incredible, and really represents everything Wisconsin is all about. We take players that most other schools overlooked or simply didnt want. You think Alabama would win with the same talent? Alabama had a roster loaded with NFL talent, and still only won the same amount of games.
We play with a chip on our shoulders, and I wouldnt have it any other way. The opponents can overlook us all they want. The ending is almost always the same. We keep winning and the world asks how we get it done. Stay tuned because well be winning a lot of games this upcoming year too.
