US Border Patrol agents made a startling discovery Monday after three illegal immigrants abandoned their duffel bag before escaping back to Mexico.

Inside? A live tiger cub.

The agents were working near the Rio Grande, according to KHOU11, when they spotted the three illegal immigrants, one of whom was carrying the black duffel bag but dropped it while evading the agents.

The male tiger cup, which reportedly appeared to be less than four months old, was taken to Brownsvilles Gladys Porter Zoo.

Irma Chapa, communications director for the RGV Sector of the US Border Patrol, tweeted a picture of the cub Monday evening along with a note that the cub is “expected to make a full recovery!”
