CBS Reporter Criticizes Thoughts And Prayers To Texas School Shooting Victims

A CBS reporter slammed those giving “thoughts and prayers” to the family and friends of victims of the high school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, Friday.

“You tweeted out that your thoughts and prayers were with the victims and, just sort of being online, youre getting a lot of reaction for that,” said the CBS host to Texas Ag Ken Paxton. “You know, thoughts and prayers, we — we hear that every time theres a shooting.”

He continued to ask, “How do you respond to people who say somethings got to be done, our children need to feel safe, and of all places, their school?”

“I would prefer to have people that were in place to protect our children,” Paxton responded.

The Texas school shooting left multiple victims dead. Possible explosives were also identified both at the school nearby the scene of the shooting.

CBS News reported Friday afternoon they identified the school shooter as “17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis”:
