Melbourne Storm centre Curtis Scott has accepted a two-match ban for a punch which fractured the eye socket of Manly's Dylan Walker.

Scott, who became the first NRL player since 2015 to be sent off after the spiteful clash, will miss matches against North Queensland and Brisbane, while Walker is likely to face six weeks out of the game with his injury.

After being verbally abused, Scott lashed out with multiple punches to Walker's head during the fiery second-half altercation.

Following the game, the 20-year-old premiership player issued an apology via a club statement.

"While it doesn't change what happened last night I would like to deeply apologise to my team, Manly and NRL fans for my actions," Scott said.

"[It is] not how I want to represent myself, my team, or the game."

Storm teammate Dale Finucane said on Monday Scott would learn his lesson following the incident.

"I guess that's something that he's going to be exposed to during games, so obviously he needs to just have a cooler temper and I guess react a little differently next time," Finucane told reporters.

"Obviously he's sent out an apology and he's remorseful for what he's done and it is what it is."

The NRL judiciary responded to the incident by charging Scott with a grade three striking offence.

The original charge attracted 400 base points for the offence, reduced to 300 because of the early guilty plea.

The other adjustment was due to the fact that Scott had been sent off in the 52nd minute for the punch.

The judiciary deducted 28 points, one for every minute of play Scott missed against Manly on Saturday night.

This meant the final assessment was 272 points, good for a two-match ban, with 72 points carried over on Scott's record.

Finucane would not be drawn on whether he thought a two-week penalty was appropriate for Scott's actions.

"Those are the rules in the game and that's I guess the decision of the hierarchy to make," Finucane said.

Manly's Apisa Koroisau — who along with Walker was sent to the sin bin for his part in the fight — also made an early guilty plea to accept a one-match ban for striking after he threw a punch on-field at Scott.

The Storm's Asofa-Solomona Nelson was fined $1,100 for a careless high tackle on Manly's Jake Trbojevic.

The Raiders' Josh Papalii and Joseph Tapine have until midday on Tuesday to answer grade one charges of a high tackle and shoulder charge respectively.
