President Trump Meets With 106-Year-Old Pearl Harbor Veteran

President Trump met with Ray Chavez, an American World War II veteran and survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack, at the White House Thursday.

Chavez fought in World War II and survived the Japanese Pearl Harbor attacks on the United States.

The San Diego Tribune reports that during World War II, Chavez “help[ed] ferry troops to embattled islands, from Guadalcanal to Okinawa.”

“Im glad I did my part and went through all those military exercises, being in the war and everything,” he told the Tribune.
