Kate Spade's business partner reveals she left behind four seasons of finished designs

The late Kate Spades close friend and business partner has revealed that she left behind four seasons worth of designs for her brand, Frances Valentine.

The 55-year-old designer died by suicide on 5 June in New York.

Kate Spade started her namesake handbag brand in 1993, selling it in 2006, before launching new accessories brand Frances Valentine in 2015, with her husband Andy and business partners, Elyce Arons and Paola Venturi.

Arons recently revealed that Kate left behind four seasons of complete work for the company and an abundant library of her concepts.

We dont know what the future holds for us, but we are determined to continue to make her beautiful work live on through Frances Valentine, Arons tells Business Insider.

We will be stronger for her, more connected to each other through her.

Arons was a close friend of Spades, having worked as head of operations at her namesake company, before becoming a managing partner at Frances Valentine.

In fact, the original design team from Kate Spade are all now working at Frances Valentine.

We have been inundated with calls and emails about product, but also about peoples emotional connection to Kate, Arons says.

She was authentic, and I think people sensed that and really felt close to her.

Kate Spade leaves behind husband Andy and 13-year-old daughter, Frances.

The designer left a heartbreaking note for her daughter, explaining its not her fault and telling her she has always loved her.
