Australia's Tournament of Nations defence has got off to the perfect start with an excellent 3-1 win over Brazil.

An own goal to Brazilian defender Poliana put the Matildas ahead early in the match before Tameka Butt stooped lowest and quickest to nod in Australia's second in the first half.

Star forward Sam Kerr put the icing on the cake with a thunderous shot from wide right, before Brazil pulled back a consolation goal as playmaker Marta pulled out the tricks before laying it on for Debinha to slam home.

More to come.
