Newly Minted Citizens Explain The Benefits Of Immigrating The Right Way: Legally

Some of Americas newest citizens spoke recently to The Daily Caller and expressed gratitude for their new rights. They also stressed the importance of immigrating here legally and learning English.

Coming from countries all over the world, the group took the Oath of Allegiance together at a high school in Alexandria, Va. New citizens must swear to “support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

“Im ready to defend the country and the Constitution,” said Mamam Jalloh, a young immigrant from Sierra Leone.

“America is the best country,” she added. She said she believes it is very important for would-be immigrants to follow U.S. immigration laws and that “they should go through all the process and come here legally.”

Vanessa Ulloa, who is from El Salvador and hopes to become a veterinarian, said that immigrants also “need to know how to write and speak English.”

Nabeela Odish, who immigrated from Iraq, said, “It was my dream [a] long time ago to come here and become an American citizen,” and thanked the people of her new country.
