Bell leaves ABC to take up football role at Fremantle Dockers
Former Dockers captain Peter Bell has quit his role as breakfast presenter at ABC Radio Perth and has been named the new general manager of football at Fremantle.
Bell is stepping down immediately from his position on the club's board and from his media roles.
The 42-year-old will replace long-term football manager Chris Bond at the Dockers.
Bell was an inaugural player at the club in 1995, but appeared in just two games before joining North Melbourne.
He played in two premierships with the Kangaroos and won their best and fairest award in 2000.
The West Australian returned to Fremantle at the end of the 2000 season, and captained the Dockers for five years from 2003 to 2006.

Bell retired from football in 2008 after 286 games and has spent the last few years working in the media, most recently as the host of ABC Radio Perth's weekday breakfast program with Paula Kruger.
He has also been involved with AFL coverage for ABC Grandstand and Channel Seven.
ABC's head of capital city radio Warwick Tiernan said Bell would be missed.
"Peter has achieved a strong audience following and his warmth, smarts and cheeky laugh will certainly be missed by our listeners and staff alike," he said.
"It's been great having Peter as part of the ABC Radio Perth team.
"We wish Peter well in his new role at the Dockers, and expect he'll certainly still be heard on our airwaves from time to time.
"Plans for a replacement in 2019 will be announced later in the year."
Bell, who is currently on leave, will finish at the ABC immediately to take up his new role.
