Ed Razek, Victorias Secrets Chief Marketing Officer, has recently explained why the brand lacks diverse models.

He said: Its like, why doesnt your show do this? Shouldnt you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I dont think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy.

The brand has been struggling, and may face even more difficulties after plus-size fashion brand Navabi recently hit back, after Ed claimed that people had no interest in a Victorias Secret attempt at a plus-size show back in 2000.

Navabi teamed up with a range of plus-size models to create their own mini lingerie show to show diversity and to be inclusive of all women.

Despite apologising for his comments, the CEO of VS, Jan Singer, resigned, and the brand has now seen its lowest ever TV ratings.

Navabi said: The #VSFashionShow is the most watched fashion show in the world. Each year they send women down the runway with just one size and shape body. Angels they call them, as if only this one idea of the perfect body gets into heaven.

68% of women in the USA are plus size, yet their Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek says nobody was interested in them featuring plus women, and this year the body diversity of the show looked the same as every year. VS needs to get with the times or get out of the way.

Another tweet, posted yesterday, 4 December has received more than 1,000 likes and plenty of comments complimenting the models, cheering on Nevabi and praising them on showing a true selection of female bodies.

The photoshoot shows the models in black and red lingerie, and proves very much so that there is interest in plus-size models, and that larger brands should start becoming more inclusive.
