Saquon Barkleys Handlers Are Trying To Have Him Go Eli Manning On Cleveland
Saquon Barkleys agents and advisors seem hellbent on doing whatever is necessary to make sure he doesnt become a Cleveland Brown.
One of their strategies includes Barkley pulling an Eli Manning, and straight up refusing to play for certain teams. Manning infamously refused to play for the San Diego Chargers, and was promptly traded to the New York Giants.
Sports Illustrated reported the following:
They dont want him in Cleveland. They want him to go second to the Giants and play in the media capital of the world. Thats where you can become the Face of the League. His manager even implored him to pull an Eli Manning and demand that the Browns not draft him. Barkley never considered the option.
I would usually be against anything like this, but I dont blame anybody trying to boycott Cleveland. The Browns are an absolute joke of an organization. Its a graveyard for careers. Does anybody need a refresher on their past few seasons.
The good news for Saquon is that there is a very high chance he doesnt go first overall, and hell be off the board again before the Browns pick at four. Yes, hard to feel bad for a guy getting paid millions to play football, but I actually understand wanting to keep your client out of Cleveland.
