Benfica goalkeeper Mile Svilar has revealed that he was given words of encouragement from Romelu Lukaku after his error gifted Manchester United a 1-0 win in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Jose Mourinho’s side have now registered three victories in the group stage but required a mistake from the 18-year-old goalkeeper to earn three points against the Portuguese champions.

United’s goal came from Marcus Rashford’s free-kick as Svilar was caught out due to his high starting position. The 18-year-old managed to catch the ball but the momentum took him over the line.
After the match, Lukaku and several United players consoled Svilar, who broke Iker Casillas’ record to become the youngest goalkeeper to start a Champions League game.
