Ever feel like your extra hot salted caramel latte with soya milk and a pump of spiced syrup just isn’t personal enough?

‘Course you have. Because you’re deeply self-obsessed, just like the rest of us.

Thankfully, you don’t need to make your caffeine hit more personalised by requesting camel milk or adding on even more barista-infuriating extras.

Instead you can just head to The Tea Terrace, in House of Fraser’s Oxford Street branch, and grab a selfieccino.

Yes, this indeed a cappuccino topped with a selfie. Your face printed in foam, resting on top of a cappuccino.

It’s created using a Cino machine, which works by scanning a photo and reproducing it on to the coffee’s froth using a flavourless food colouring. The process takes around four minutes.

Oh, and if you’re not a coffee drinker, you can get your selfie printed on a hot chocolate instead. Either way it’ll cost you £5.75.

You could choose to get any picture you fancy printed on your drink – a picture of your cat, a photo of the guy you’ve been flirting with over Tinder to show your mates, a nice relaxing sunset – but most people go for selfies.

Since selfieccinos launched on Saturday more than 400 of the personalised hot drinks have been sold, and The Tea Terrace now hopes to trademark the term before taking selfieccinos to their locations in London Victoria and Guildford, Surrey.

More: Coffee

‘Due to social media, the dining experience has completely shifted,’ says Ehab Salem Shouly, owner of The Tea Terrace. ‘It’s not enough any more to just deliver great food and great service – it’s got to be Instagram worthy.’

True that. Or you could just drink your coffee and Instagram a cat, or something. We reckon that might get more likes.
