Power star Robbie Gray to miss round one after failed appeal

Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray will miss the first round of the AFL season after the tribunal upheld his one-match ban for rough conduct.
New AFL match review officer Michael Christian charged Gray with rough conduct for his bump on West Coast's Jeremy McGovern in Sunday's pre-season game.
Gray's shoulder connected with McGovern's face in the first quarter of the Power's match against the Eagles. The West Coast player appeared dazed and did not return to the game following the incident.
Christian assessed the hit as a high, careless contact with medium impact.
Gray and the Power attempted to overturn the decision, but the Tribunal did not accept their argument.
The decision to challenge the ban also cost Port Adelaide a $10,000 fee for appealing.
Gray will miss the Power's season-opener against Fremantle at Adelaide Oval on March 24.
"We move on, I suppose, take the verdict, and I'll miss round one but hopefully I've got the rest of the year to play," Gray told reporters outside the hearing.
