The Eagles Are Planning Their White House Visit

Heres something to cheer up the despairing Philly fans after the Flyers crushing defeat last night.

The Philadelphia Eagles — aka the Super Bowl LII champs in case anyones forgotten — are reportedly in talks with the White House to plan an upcoming trip.

ESPN Eagles reporter Tim McManus first reported the story. He got the Eagles official statement regarding a potential upcoming trip to Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon.

“Eagles statement on being invited to the White House following their Super Bowl win: We have been in contact with White House representatives and are currently discussing the logistics of an upcoming visit to Washington. We are honored to receive this invitation and view this not only as an opportunity to be recognized for our on-field achievements, but also as an opportunity to engage in productive dialogue with the leaders of our country,'” McManus wrote.

While the Eagles would probably like to keep political pontification to a minimum, at least one player has already announced hell be a no-show.

Defensive end and outspoken social activist Chris Long scoffed at the idea of shaking President Trumps hand.

“No, Im not going to the White House,” Long told the hosts of “Pardon My Take” back in January. “Are you kidding me?”

It seems like discussions have only begun so we probably wont see Doug Pederson and the rest of his team in D.C. any time soon. But you can bet itll be an iconic moment for the first time Super Bowl champs when it finally does happen.
