NFL Investigation Found No Proof Player Was Asked Inappropriate Questions At Combine

An NFL investigation into whether teams asked Derrius Guice inappropriate questions during the scouting combine concluded with no evidence suggesting any wrongdoing, ESPN reports.

Guice, a running back from Louisiana State University (LSU), said in a Sirius XM interview in March that a team had asked him whether or not he was gay and if his mother is a prostitute.

After an investigation that included formal reviews and reports from every team that interviewed LSU running back Derrius Guice, the league did not confirm that any club made the reported controversial inquiries to him, a source told ESPN. Investigation now concluded.

During the NFLs investigation, the league tried to determine which team had asked Guice those questions, but no evidence of any inappropriate questioning surfaced. According to ESPN, at least one team said he admitted that he “made up” the questions he was asked.

Guice is projected to either be a late first-round pick or an early second-round pick — if this situation doesnt cause his draft stock to plummet.

This is not the first time that an NFL hopeful has reportedly been asked inappropriate questions. Dez Bryant was asked about if his mother was a prostitute. Eli Apple, back in 2016, was asked by the Atlanta Falcons if he was gay. So, Guices claims were taken seriously. Both are against the rules. Some questions that have alleged been asked of players have ranged from offensive to downright strange.

Marcus Davenport, another 2018 first-round hopeful, was asked this year if he was a fruit, which fruit would he be? His answer, “An apple — because an apple a day keeps the doctor away.”
