Trump Reportedly Wants To Invite Kaepernick To The White House
President Donald Trump reportedly wants to invite former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the White House for a race summit.
People Magazine reported the following:
President Donald Trump has given the green light to multiple meetings with athletes and musical artists to discuss race, Cleveland-based pastor Darrell Scott, an outside adviser to the White House adviser, tells PEOPLE.
“He is 100 percent for it,” says Scott, who spoke with Trump for about 20 minutes in the Oval Office following an outdoor ceremony at the White House for Thursdays National Day of Prayer. “He was very enthusiastic about it.”
Kanye West, who recently had a Twitter love-fest with Trump, has been invited, says Scott, along with former NFL star Colin Kaepernick and other athletes and musicians of multiple races and ethnicities.
I do not see how this goes well for Trump at all. Kaepernick refused to stand for the anthem, NFL fans despise him and hes radioactive to NFL teams. This is a bad idea. Trump literally has nothing to gain.
Heres why Trump has nothing to gain. History tells us that Kaepernick has no real idea what hes talking about, but people in his corner still support him. For example, he wore socks depicting cops as pigs and praised Fidel Castro. Either one of those incidents should be enough to end a career.
When pressed on Castro, the former 49ers quarterback went on some weird rant about prison, literacy rates and education. It made no sense. So, do we really expect him to sit down to have a great chat rooted in facts? I dont think so.
Plus, Trump voters hate Kaepernick! Look at the electoral map and the parts that voted for Trump. The South and the Midwest arent friendly to people who disrespect America.
Somebody needs to explain all of this to the President before he makes a terrible mistake. The best option here is that Trump extends an invite, and Kaepernick turns it down. That will make it look like Trump was trying to make a deal, but Kaepernick wouldnt play ball. Thats the only way I see this working out well for Trump.
