The Caps Advancing To The Conference Finals Is A Majestic Sight
The Washington Capitals did the unthinkable late Monday night, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins to advance to the Eastern conference finals.
The Caps might have been up 3-2 in the series going into last night, but we all knew that it was a must-win game. We also knew that the Caps ability to blow big games has been unrivaled in the NHL.
I made my way on over to a coworkers house prior to the game, and we watched on the edge of our seats. The beer was flowing, we had brats and burgers, and people couldnt get enough of the game. This is what playoff hockey is all about.
The Caps pulled it out in overtime, and took a huge step forward.

A date with the Tampa Bay Lightning is on the horizon, and I couldnt be more pumped. Im a Detroit Red Wings fan, but have accepted the Caps as my adopted new team since moving to D.C. a few years ago.
I know that this win doesnt mean as much to me as to many of the local people — not even close — but Im happy and excited to see how far the team is going to go.
After all, anything can happen in playoff hockey.
