Mesh bags are a thing this summer so our wallets can rejoice
Whether youre going to be poolside, beach-bound or staying home this summer, the humble mesh bag will be your best friend.
Mesh shoppers and totes are waterproof, quick-drying and best of all, budget friendly.
Theyre mostly made from plastic, making them strong, durable and easy to wipe clean.
High street versions are a steal at between £10 and £20, although if youre after a designer offering, youll end up paying considerably more.
Unlike the cloth tote that will get wet and smell of chlorine if you stuff your soggy beach towel in it, the mesh bag is made for carefree holiday use. It will hold your damp swimwear and sticky suncream bottles, or M&S picnic food and ciders for the park with ease.
Its not often that trends are both stylish and practical, so were going to enjoy the mesh bag all summer long.

Weve chosen our favourites below.
This punky tote from Urban Outfitters reminds us of black string vests from our goth phase, but in a good way.
Cute pastels and an even cuter price.

A sturdy tote from Cath Kidston that comes with its own internal zipped pouch, perfect for the purse and keys you dont want tumbling to the bottom of your bag.
Its not cheap but were in love with the sunny yellow of this tote and the cute white trim.
Another pricey offering but this tote was made in Italy and has premium leather handles and trim. Its actually quite a subtle design for Balenciaga – remember the platform Crocs?!
Maison Margiela Mesh Japanese Tote Bag, £65
We love this super minimal design by French fashion house Maison Margiela, and can imagine wearing it with a simple Breton or white lace blouse and tortoiseshell-framed sunglasses.
