President Donald Trump visited London and met with Prime Minister of England Theresa May Thursday, but not without protest by Londoners primed for his visit.
The president said he “feels unwelcome,” but that true Brits “love the president of the United States,” according to British tabloid The Sun.
“I used to love London as a city. I havent been there in a long time. But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?” Trump said, adding, “And when I say that I am talking about government because the people of the UK agree with me.”
“Many people are delighted. I get thousands of notifications from people in the UK that they love the President of the United States. They want the same thing I want,” the president continued.
The city launched a large security operation to handle the presidents arrival.
Trump said he would stay away from London because of the unrest in the city, especially in order to avoid the large protests that reached up to 200,000 people. (RELATED: Trump On Boris Johnson: Hed Be A Good Prime Minister)
