West Coast Eagles forward Liam Ryan is again in trouble with police, less than a week after he was fined and had his licence disqualified for drink driving.
It's understood the 22-year-old premiership player became involved in a family dispute in the early hours of Sunday morning while he was in Kalbarri on Western Australia's mid-west coast.
Police issued a statement on Monday morning saying they were called to an incident on Porter Street, Kalbarri, at 4:20am on Sunday.
"Police spoke to a 20-year-old female at the scene," the statement said.
"As a result of investigations, police later spoke to a 22-year-old man in Kalbarri who was subsequently issued with a 72-hour police order.
"No complaint has been made to police."
According to Legal Aid WA, a police order is a form of temporary restraining order that can be issued to stop someone from committing family violence or exposing a child to family violence.
It is usually issued while an applicant is deciding whether to apply for a formal family violence restraining order.
The Eagles released a statement this morning saying the small forward was issued with a move-on notice, which he obeyed.
"The club will be working with Liam to establish the details," the statement read.
"The club remains cognisant of Liam's health and wellbeing and will work closely with him to ensure those considerations are prioritised."
Latest run-in with the law
The incident comes after the premiership forward was charged with drink driving after he drove into a tree in Armadale in July.
He had a blood alcohol reading of 0.138 after the crash.
Ryan was ordered to pay a $1700 fine, plus court costs, and was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
At the time of the crash, the Eagles found he had breached the team's alcohol policy and handed down a two-match ban.
The club said it would release further information once it established the facts around the latest allegations.
