Roar goalkeeper Young cops alleged racist abuse in Mudgee stands
The Western Sydney Wanderers say a fan who allegedly racially abused Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Jamie Young during Saturday's A-League match will never be welcomed back.

The Roar and Wanderers were playing out a 2-2 A-League draw at Glen Willow Sports Stadium in Mudgee, when Roar stopper Young, who is of Sri Lankan and Scottish heritage, was heard on broadcasters' pitch-side microphones shouting "don't f***ing call me a monkey, you f***ing racist c***".
In a statement, the Wanderers labelled the fan's alleged comments "deplorable" and not acceptable.
"The Western Sydney Wanderers would like to extend a sincere apology to Jamie Young for being subjected to such behaviour," the club said.
"We applaud and are extremely proud of those Wanderers supporters in the immediate vicinity to this individual who promptly, and vociferously, objected to the behaviour demonstrated and alerted authorities to have the offender removed from the venue.
"This individual is not to be welcomed back to any Wanderers fixture."
The Roar condemned the alleged incident in its own statement, saying it would cooperate with authorities to investigate the matter further.
"The club has a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism of any form in the game we love. Racism has no place in our society and we do not condone this type of behaviour," the Roar said.
"Brisbane Roar applauds, and thanks, the Western Sydney Wanderers management, staff, security and fans for their swift action and support.
"Brisbane Roar's number one priority is supporting Jamie Young."
Former Socceroos Archie Thompson and Mark Bosnich called for lengthy bans for the spectator.
"There's no room for that in life full stop. He should be banned for 10 years," Bosnich said on Fox Sports.
Striker Thompson called for an even tougher punishment.
"I think not 10 years, life. We can't tolerate that sort of stuff," he said in response to Bosnich.
