Knights prop breaks leg after being punched on night out
Newcastle forward Jacob Saifiti could miss the start of the NRL season after breaking his leg in an off-field incident at the weekend.

The Knights on Monday confirmed Saifiti was rushed to hospital early on Sunday morning after being punched and falling awkwardly.
The club is yet to sanction Saifiti and left the matter to police.
"After Saifiti left the establishment, he and a man came together. There was a push and shove which resulted in Saifiti suffering a punch," the statement read.
"Having fallen awkwardly as a result of the punch, Saifiti injured his leg and was transported to hospital by security staff."
The Knights said "security staff acted appropriately and effectively" in breaking up the initial altercation in the hotel.
The prop was reportedly drinking with teammates before the altercation with the brother of Sydney Roosters and Australian captain Boyd Cordner.
Cordner's brother Dane is believed to be playing football in the local league for Central Newcastle, and the team was celebrating a teammate's engagement.
A number of Knights players were said to be farewelling teammate Luke Yates at the same hotel before Saifiti and Cordner were kicked out by security after a verbal altercation.
Cordner allegedly punched Saifiti outside.
"Given the facts, Saifiti may be subject to disciplinary action taken by the Club at the appropriate time," the Knights statement read.
It came at the end of a rough year for Saifiti, who made just eight NRL appearances due to a shoulder injury and is expected to face more time out as a result of this incident.
An extended period on the sidelines for Saifiti, plus any club-imposed sanction, will come as a blow to the youngster after the Knights recruited heavily in the off-season, with Origin forwards Tim Glasby and David Klemmer joining the club.
