McDonalds Germany is launching a new vegan burger

Vegan diners in Germany are about to get a real treat, as McDonalds is launching a vegan burger.

The new Big Vegan TS uses a Nestle Impossible Burger, which promises to taste exactly like meat when cooked (just without the dead animals, of course).

The Impossible Burger is sold under the Garden Gourmet name in the shops, and is made of soy and wheat protein, also containing extracts of beetroot, carrot, and bell pepper.

Theyll be cooked in McDonalds separately from the rest of the food to ensure theres no cross-contamination, and served with mustard, ketchup, onion, tomato, and greens. It also boasts just as much protein as the meat patty, so you dont have to compromise on #gains.

Its one of hundreds of recipes tested out in Munich by the company, with tasters saying the flavour made the cut and was up to scratch for discerning customers.

Here in the UK, McDonalds recently launched vegan goujon wraps, a veggie patty sandwich, and a vegan Happy Meal.

It was a first for the chain, who has previously not delivered a vegan option (particularly pertinent with their kids Happy Meals).

We have yet to receive a burger substitute from McDs, but Burger King have been trialling their Impossible Vegan Whopper in hopes of rolling that out.

If that goes ahead, theres every chance Ronald and Co might follow suit and bring the Big Vegan TS to the UK.
