MSC Cruises to start including service charge in fare

MSC Cruises is to include a daily service charge as part of the cruise fare on new bookings.

The cruise line confirmed the change would take effect for all new bookings made from Tuesday (25 June).

MSC had announced plans to roll gratuities into the cruise fare for UK and Irish passengers earlier this year with an initial planned launch date of early April, although this was later delayed.

“As of tomorrow, 25 June 2019, MSC Cruises will include the daily service charge as part of the cruise fare,” said the line in a statement.

“The change will affect bookings made from this date and any bookings made after this date will be subject to the new terms and conditions regarding service charge.

“Any bookings made before this date, regardless of departure date will be subject to the existing booking terms that state service charge will be included as part of the onboard invoice, however it is optional and can be removed on board at the request of the guests.”
