Are children just as infectious as adults?
Till now the data was sparse and contradictory – but now there is the first analysis on Coronavirus and childrens infectiousness in Germany.
Berlin (dpa) – An analysis undertaken in Germany suggests that in the current Coronavirus pandemic children are probably just as infectious as adults. The virus load that is evidenced in the respiratory tract does not differ by age group, or so researchers in the group led by virologist Christian Drosten at the Berliner Charité hospital say in a pre-published study that has not yet been peer reviewed. On the basis of their findings, the researchers warn against any unrestricted opening schools and kindergartens in Germany.
