Johnny Manziels Football Comeback Hits A Bad Snag. Find Out The Details
The CFL reportedly wont allow Johnny Manziel to sign a deal for only a single season to play in Canada.
There was a lot of speculation that the CFL might bend its rules in order to entice Manziel north of the border, but that seems like its dead in the water.
TSNs David Naylor recently tweeted, “Last word on @JManziel2 and speculation about a special one-year CFL deal. According to a league source, we would not make a policy that would apply to only one player. #CFL.”

All new players in the CFL are required to sign two-year deals on their first contract, which is something Manziel has shown little interest in doing.
This does kind of throw a hitch in Manziels likely plans. The best case scenario for him was: hed go to Canada, dominate for a year and then return to the NFL. It seemed like the best option, but the CFL doesnt seem interested in changing its rules for Manziel alone.
Dont be surprised if we dont see Manziel in Canada at all. He seems focused on getting back ASAP, and a two-year wait is a long time.
