Benfica boss Rui Vitoria says it’s only a matter of time until Victor Lindelof becomes a regular first-team starter at Manchester United.
The Swede moved to Old Trafford from Benfica last summer for £31million but he’s played less than two minutes of Premier League football this season.
Lindelof made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Liverpool but could start in the side’s Champions League clash against his old side tonight.
Vitoria brought Lindelof into his first-team at Benfica and he says the Swede will soon become a regular under Mourinho.
‘He is a very high quality player, he has been playing with Jose Mourinho,’ said Vitoria.
‘Of course when you move from the Portuguese championship to an English championship, there is a phase, a stage of adaptation.
‘I do foresee that in the future Lindelof will be a player of Jose Mourinho’s team. He has a lot of value, he is very cold, very competitive and has a great deal of quality.’
