Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to sign two new players in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Italian has already raised concerns over the depth of his squad and has already had to deal with injuries to several key players including Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Victor Moses.

Reports in the summer claimed that Conte was at odds with Chelsea’s board over the club’s transfer policy and expected to club to significantly bolster his team ahead of their return to the Champions League.

Ahead of the upcoming January window, the Daily Telegraph reports that Conte wants Chelsea to sign a back-up striker to Alvaro Morata and another wing-back to compete with Marcos Alonso on the left flank.

Fernando Llorente was wanted by Conte last January, as well as in the summer, but the Spaniard ended up joining Tottenham after Chelsea’s hierarchy had doubts about a deal for the 32-year-old.

Alex Sandro was one of Chelsea’s higher-profile targets in the summer but the Premier League champions were unable to strike a deal with Juventus for the Brazilian left-back.

The Daily Telegraph also report that Ross Barkley remains on Chelsea’s radar, although the Everton midfielder rejected the chance to move to Stamford Bridge on deadline day in September.

When asked what signings he wants Chelsea to make in January, Conte said this week: ‘I think about this topic, it is better if once my club ask me what I need to catch them up and then I will answer, but in a private way.

‘If one day the club try to ask me something about this topic I can give my opinion but at the same time I am very happy to work for this club with these players.’
