Jurgen Klopp lashes out in incredible post-match interview after Everton draw
Jurgen Klopp was furious after Liverpool‘s 1-1 draw against local rival Everton and lashed out at a journalist in his post-match press conference.
The German tactician was unimpressed with a late penalty given against Dejan Lovren, which Wayne Rooney duly converted, and could not believe that his side didn’t win the match, while he also thought Gylfi Sigurdsson deserved a red card.
Mohamed Salah put Liverpool in front with a fine solo effort but Liverpool were wasteful in front of goal before their bitter rivals snatched a point.

But Klopp took his anger out on the journalist interviewing him after the match as emotions boiled over.
‘Our performance was good,’ he said. ‘We didn’t score often enough. I saw only one team playing.
‘I can’t believe the situation with all the challenges. We were clean and didn’t make any fouls. There is always one nasty one – Sigurdsson made that. A clear red card. You see the picture of the penalty. [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin is smart but it is nothing. But it is a penalty and one team can celebrate and we can’t.
‘I don’t understand why the ref is doing that [giving the penalty]. I didn’t use one swear word. Only one team is trying over 95 minutes to win it. The other team are not in our box and didn’t have a shot on target bar the penalty.’
Klopp and the interviewer then discussed whether it was a penalty, with the journalist claiming it was one, and the Liverpool laughed at his opinion before hitting out at him.
‘Lovren doesn’t make a challenge,’ he added. ‘Calvert-Lewin makes a step. The hand is on the back.
‘If you think it is a penalty say so. Does my opinion change anything?
‘I only want to speak to people with a little bit of understanding about football. I am sorry, I am wrong and you are right.
‘Obviously I am not in the mood to answer questions.’
