Happy NFL Draft Day! This Is Where It All Begins
The NFL draft will get underway tonight, and thats a reason to celebrate.
Tonight, 32 young men will be drafted into the NFL and make a lot of money. Their lifelong dream of playing football on Sundays will become a reality. All the major pro sports leagues have a draft, but theres just something special about the NFL.
Football is a religion in this country. Glory is won on the gridiron, men rise and fall, legends are made, hearts are broken, championships are won and it all starts with the first step. That step begins tonight for every team and the 32 men who will be selected.
I had a college roommate who could tell you everything about the draft youd ever need to know. The man was a draft expert. Im not sure Im near that level, but I do appreciate the moment that is tonight. We all work towards our goals. I was never going to be slinging it in the Super Bowl, but I can become king of the internet. However, the journey to a Super Bowl and the completion of a dream theyve had for a long time gets underway tonight.
