The Macallan launches limited edition with classic ads

Classic advertisements which were used to promote the Macallan in bygone days are making a limited comeback.

Complete with a sherry oak style of The Macallan, Folio 3 continues the ongoing Archival Series remembering the legendary advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s that took The Macallan to a wider audience for the first time.

A collaboration with creative director, David Holmes, and copywriter, Nick Salaman – who masterminded the original campaign – Folio 3 leads with an advertising feature that celebrates the idea that whisky is best made in cold weather.

This was inspired by a tradition commented on by The Macallan distillery manager to Holmes and Salaman on a visit to The Macallan estate.

Folio 3 will only be available directly from The Macallan and enthusiasts have the opportunity to secure a chance to purchase one of a limited number of bottles being made available through a ballot from The Macallan Online Shop.

Those interested in securing a bottle from this highly limited release, should click HERE before 11.59pm on 15 May, and complete the ballot entry information and instructions. The Macallan will send you a confirmation email with additional details that confirms your entry into the ballot.

Folio 3 will also be on sale from The Macallan Visitor Centre at The Macallan Estate from 10am on Thursday, 3 May, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note The Macallan visitor centre and shop will be closed to the public from Tuesday, 8 May onwards, as they prepare for their new distillery and visitor experience, opening this summer.
