Asda has recently come under fire for stocking a Fathers Day t-shirt with an obvious spelling mistake.

The supermarket recently started selling green t-shirts with a cartoon image of beer on them, alongside the caption: Dads dont do things by halves.

The tops were selling for £4, however, Asda has stopped stocking them after a Twitter user pointed out the mistake.

They wrote: Really Asda? @AsdaServiceTeam @Georgeatasda Two major things wrong with this T-shirt.

Thank you for the great starter and discussion for my year 5 class tomorrow – you will also be receiving letters from them soon! #WhatItaughttoday #PrimaryRocks.

Asda George was quick to reply, to explain they were aware of the situation.

A customer service adviser responded: Hi there, my apologies for any disappointment caused here! Our Buying Team are aware of this and are looking into it as we speak! Thank you have a lovely evening – Nicole.

Twitter wasnt the only place where Asda was being called out.

A thread on Mumsnet also sparked debate.

One woman wrote: That apostrophe is giving me a twitch….cant they read FGS! Almost as bad as “should of” instead of “should have”.

Another said: Does no-one spell/grammar check this stuff before it goes out? It would annoy me silly to keep seeing that! Happy with it otherwise.

Luckily for Asda, they were made aware of the situation before the t-shirts could sell out.

And if you did purchase the top, you should probably head back to the store to return it – especially if your dad is hot on grammar.

As for Asda, a spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: We dropped the ball here, and not the apostrophe, which was a mistake.

Well, at least theyve still got their sense of humour.
