Ben & Jerrys really wants to launch CBD infused ice cream
Ben and Jerrys wants to launch CBD infused ice cream, in hopes of jumping on the cannabis oil trend.
The ice cream company shared a photo of a mock-up of what could be a new ice cream tub some time in the future to their Instagram, writing: Trend alert! CBD-infused ice cream is (maybe, hopefully) coming to a freezer near you!
And, unsurprisingly, people went pretty wild for the idea.
One person commented: Thank. You. For normalizing. Hemp and cannabis. The work you guys do is SO much more than just ice cream.
Another said: This is why you guys are the best ice cream company out there.
Someone else added: Ben and Jerrys continuing to be the ice cream we didnt know we needed.
Of course, Ben & Jerrys is an American brand and currently the FDS prohibits adding CBD to food and beverages – but they recently had a hearing on the legalisation of CBD-infused foods, and Ben & Jerrys submitted a comment to them supporting legalisation.
The brand is hoping that eventually, CBD-infused ice cream is something theyll actually be able to roll out.

Ben & Jerrys CEO Matthew McCarthy said: Were doing this for our fans.
Weve listened and brought them everything from Non-Dairy indulgences to on-the-go portions with our Pint Slices. We aspire to love our fans more than they love us and we want to give them what theyre looking for in a Ben & Jerrys way.

On their website, the brand added: Just chasing a trend isnt quite enough for us. We want to use sustainably-sourced CBD from our home state of Vermont.
After all, values-led sourcing is an important part of our process when we churn up new ice cream innovations.
